Summary - A long standing public building in Daytona Beach shores was destroyed when Hurricane Irma hit Florida last summer. A plan to rebuild the building is in place but will cost $13 million of insurance and tax payers money. The building was destroyed when the 6 inches of rain permeated the building from the front.
Problem presented? - Building are not hurricane or severe weather proofed.
Who has the problem? - Cities, States, businesses, residents and anyone else who owns commercial real estate

Summary - Drug over doses have spiked this past spring in Volusia county due to a synthetic, laboratory manufactured version of heroin being produced and sold in the lower income neighborhoods. The form of heroin is shown to be a million times more powerful than pure heroin. Its said that a small group of individuals are the ones responsible for reaping havoc.
Problem presented? - No present outlet for help in regards to people who use and abuse drugs with in Volusia County.
Who has the problem? - The people who use and over dose on drugs and their families and loved ones that are directly effected.

Summary - Billy's Tap Room has used an external parking lot for their supply truck to unload their inventory each week for the past couple of years. Until recently a new developer had purchased the land and now is not allowing the place of business to use the external parking lot for their trucks. This has sparked a legal war with both the developer and the owner of Billy's Tap Room.

This is a huge problem since no body is sure of the long term effects being positive or negative it can have on the human body.
Problem presented? - Teens and young adults are flocking to an addicting substance that can be harmful to their health and is also illegal in some age groups.
Who has the problem? - Users of these products including young teens and adults.

ReplyDeleteI think that the E-cigarette industry is a really good opportunity right now because there is so much unknown research. There are many opportunities to create rebranding to direct e-cigarettes away from the teen/ young adult age group. I think that the problem is also occurring to the companies that make these products because they are risking their business by promoting to underage smokers.
